AirStrip Gets Green Light To Pursue DoD Contract

6-11-2013 4-44-27 PM

San Antonio-based AirStrip receives a key security certification issued by the Department of Defense Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process that will allow it to begin competing for DoD contract opportunities. DIACAP verifies that software applications adhere to strict network authentication and encryption requirements as mandated by DoD and other federal agencies.

From a business perspective, DIACAP certification is seen as a key prerequisite for any software vendor hoping to work within the DoD ecosystem, which means that AirStrip may be in the process of closing a major deal with DoD’s health network. The DoD has been an aggressive buyer of health IT products recently as it works to overhaul its aging technological platform. irStrip is the only mHealth vendor that can claim the certification, which gives it an immediate advantage in the marketplace.

AirStrip began by offering a wireless EKG reader, but has grown into a full-blown mobile platform designed to support the secure exchange of clinical data in the clinical setting. The company has 350 customers across the US and Europe.
