Breathometer App Announced for App Store

A new mobile medical has launched on Indiegogo, a pocket-sized breathometer that works through integration with the iPhone.  The company behind the product is raising funds on the crowdsourcing website now and is expecting to ship units beginning in July.

The company set a goal of $25,000 and has already surpassed that, raising nearly $125,000 with five days left. The campaign promises that if it hits $200,000, a feature will be added to disable text messaging and phone calls if the user blows a BAC higher than .08.

Founded by Charles Yim, former CEO of Chatterfly, the company hopes to make the world a safer place by empowering the general public with a device that will allow patrons to easily teat their blood alcohol level while drinking, hoping that this will lead to better, safer decisions. Units start at $20.
