Franciscan Health System Introduces Virtual Urgent Care

Tacoma-based Franciscan Health System announces a new mHealth initiative that provides smartphone or tablet enabled virtual urgent care to residents living within its area. The new service enables patients to receive urgent care consultations with either primary or specialty care practitioners 24/7. The service will cost consumes $35 per visit, far less than the average co-pay for a typical emergency department visit.

Franciscan’s new program responds to a growing consumer demand for a more convenient, cost effective care delivery model.

Urgent care telehealth services are being provided through a partnership with Seattle-based Carena Telemedicine solutions, a telehealth startup focused on delivering a virtual, on-demand clinic experience for patients in need of after hours care.
