iRhythm Technologies Raises $15 Million in Funding

San Francisco-based startup iRhythm has filed a $15.1 million equity sale late last month. This follows an earlier $15 million raised in a Series C round in May 2011 led by New Leaf Venture Partners.

iRhythm is a wireless medical device company that has developed an FDA-approved wearable patch that acts as a cardiac rhythm monitor. The patch wirelessly transmits data to the appropriate provider for long term monitoring. iRhythm is targeting the ambulatory or home care environments for long-term cardiac monitoring of patients experiencing heart issues that are not consistently reproducible in the cardiologist’s office. The patch can be worn for up to 14 days.

Further details were not disclosed in the SEC filing.
