McKesson launches a series of free apps designed to give physicians mobile access to their practice management systems. Medisoft Mobile is designed to give physicians access to the Medisoft practice management system. The second, Lytec Mobile, provides access to the Lytec practice management system.

The iOS apps allow physicians to view schedules and transmit charges, diagnosis codes, and notes to the front desk or billing staff.

“By improving accessibility and optimizing data capture, Medisoft Mobile can help them do just that. Our customers are excited about the potential of mobile in their practices, and we’re happy to be able to offer this solution to them.” – David Henriksen, SVP of McKesson Physician Practice Solutions

As EHRs settle into their new role as the center of coordinated patient care, demands for convenient points of access are spurring mHealth growth. McKesson, along with other EHR vendors, are racing to provide Web-based access points for clinicians who want to interact with enterprise medical record software on the form factor of their choice.
