MDLive Partners With Cigna To Offer 24 Hour Virtual Visits

Cigna announces a collaborative partnership with Sunrise, FL-based telehealth provider MDLive. The partnership will bring 24-hour online access to video and telephone doctor consultations to eligible Cigna health plan customers. The move furthers the trend of insurance and health services companies looking to online consultations as a cost effective tool to help keep patients out of the ED.

"MDLIVE’s telehealth services enable our increasingly mobile and time-constrained customers to schedule a virtual consult with a Board Certified physician and resolve a non-emergency medical issue in less than one hour. It’s cost-effective and convenient for minor illnesses such as allergies, pink eye and sinus infections." – Jackie Aube, head of product development at Cigna.

MDLive, the nation’s largest telehealth network, will provide Cigna customers on-demand physician consultations 24 hours a day. The network, which claims an average wait time of 11 minutes, is staffed by state licensed and US board dertified physicians with an average of 15 years’ of clinical experience.
