Mobile Evidence Conference Hosted by the mHealth Alliance in Tanzania This Weekend

The mHealth Alliance holds its first global mobile evidence — or mEvidence — conference this weekend in Tanzania. The conference is organized in collaboration with UNICEF, WHO, and the CDC as well as local institutions within Tanzania, Kenya, and Uganda.

The focus of the conference is to bring leaders from local mHealth initiatives across Africa together to identify the gaps in evidence to support health policy.  It also promotes initiatives to communicate new evidence and best practices.

In a study presented at the conference, data demonstrated that patients in developing nations are more familiar with the term “mHealth” and are more optimistic about its potential.

An evidence work group will compile the recommendations of the panels.
