San Francisco based-Ringadoc has raised $700k in additional seed funding according to an announcement released by the company. The funding was led by Siemer Ventures, Telegraph Hill Group, and Lyle Dennis, MD and founder of HealthKeep and brings the startups total amount raised to $1.9 million.

Ringadoc launched in 2010 with the goal of delivering telephone-based virtual consultations available to patients 24-hours a day, for $40 dollars a session. The business model left the company with plenty of patients but too few physicians participating in the platform. In January, Ringadoc adjusted its strategy by offering an after hours messaging service to physicians in an effort to drive up participation.

The company is still focused on building its physician base, and will use the new funding to continue building on physician-focused products. In addition, the company plans to beef up sales and marketing efforts.
