Intouch Health announces that its RP-VITA Remote Presence Robot has received FDA 510k clearance. The robot is designed to provide a local presence for telemedicine specialists. The robot can auto-pilot through the halls of the hospital or be manually controlled through an iPad user interface. The device includes a monitor, teleconferencing equipment, and wireless access to patients’ EHRs.

“RP-VITA raises the bar for acute care telemedicine solutions for patient care delivery.  The Robot allows me to effortlessly follow the entire clinical workflow process, and puts me at the point of care precisely when and where I need to be,” – Paul Vespa, M.D., Director of Neurocritical Care, UCLA Health System.

The robot is FDA cleared for telemedicine consults including active patient monitoring in high-acuity environments such as preoperative, perioperative, and post surgical settings. Additionally, the robot has been cleared to facilitate cardiovascular, neurological, prenatal, psychological, and critical care examinations.

Intouch Health has a library of videos on YouTube showcasing the device in various clinical settings including the ER and ICU.
