The Mayo Clinic Reports Benefits of Telemedicine Beyond Acute Stroke Care

The Mayo Clinic completes a systematic review of more than 375 studies on the potential benefits of telemedicine within the neurology field, above and beyond the well established benefits specific to acute stroke care.

The 375 studies chosen were sorted into subspecialties within neurology and then scored to assess the overall potential it forecasted for telemedicine services within the subspecialty.

The study concluded that, beyond stroke care, there exists an extensive base of published literature supporting the potential for telemedicine in both general neurologic consultations, as well as in most subspecialty neurologic consultations.
