VA Partners with GetWellNetwork to Improve Care for Veterans

12-4-2012 9-56-31 PM

The VA announces that it will roll out interactive patient engagement solutions from GetWellNetwork across 21 Veterans Affairs medical centers to help improve care for veterans.

The VA, which has been an avid supporter of telehealth and mHealth technologies, will turn the television into an in-home patient education system by providing medication information, disease process education, and the GetWellNetwork Interactive Patient Whiteboard, which will give patients a central communication tool to allow them to work collaboratively with the care team.

The VA will extend veteran access to patient education and resources beyond the walls of the VA Medical Centers through integration with My Healthe-Vet, an online personal health record that will integrate the GetWellNetwork content with the rest of the patient’s health record, providing continuity of the information across the enterprise and allowing a continuation of the whiteboard communication platform beyond the point of discharge.
