Voalte Partnership with American Nurse Today Examines Clinical Communications

Voalte, a leading vendor in the clinical communications market, announces a strategic partnership with American Nurses Today, the official journal of the American Nurses Association, to conduct a survey of bedside clinicians on current communication challenges.

The 2013 Clinical Communications Survey will ask questions about how clinical staff communicate, the tools they use, and how the devices are managed. Results will be published in the American Nurses Today journal.

As the recent fallout from the 2005 RAND study highlights, any vendor-sponsored research should be treated with increased wariness.  Regardless of the survey responses, my guess is that the published results will conclude that productivity and patient care would improve if bedside clinicians had access to HIPAA-compliant mobile communication tools, similar to the flagship platform Voalte offers.

Clearly the American Nurses Association is unfazed by the potential for skepticism, as Greg Osborne, President of HealthCom Media, publisher of American Nurse Today says:

“We encourage all nurses to spend a few minutes to take this very important survey and let their voices be heard. The results will allow the entire healthcare industry better understand the role of clinical communications and help shape the future direction of clinical communications technology.”
