WebMD Q3 Earnings Call Concludes on Lowered Revenue Forecast


WebMD held its Q3 earnings call this afternoon, during which CEO Cavan Redmond discussed the year-over-year improvements and declines. WebMD has had a poor year with few bright spots. Mr. Redmond points out that the company has increased its page views to 2.5 billion and increased its average unique monthly visitors to 100 million, a gain of 24 percent and 22 percent respectively.

Despite these gains, WebMD (WBMD) is reporting a net loss of $900,000 and a 13.2 percent decrease in earnings. WebMD stock is down 54 percent YTD, following a 24 percent loss in FY2011. A core issue for WebMD is a that pharmaceutical corporations, which are cutting back advertising spending industry wide, represent its primary advertisers.
